Hey guys, so this is the post following the unboxing post about Hashimoto Kanna's photobook, "Little Star ~Kanna 15~". If you haven't read it yet, you can read it here.
Alright so a month or so ago, I asked my Japanese friend in Japan to get me GALETTe's latest single, "She is WANNABE@!". GALETTe is one of the many idol groups that I've recently started to like a lot - the main reason being is because their songs are just freaking amazing! Normally, I would consider getting the songs first from either Itunes Japan or Itunes US but it seems that GALETTe doesn't release their songs on either platform. This means that I am forced to buy the physical copy in order to legally obtain the music which would be fine for people in Japan, but for people like me who live outside of Japan, it's a constant struggle money wise.
I could just buy it myself online but it turned out that they weren't being sold on either CDJapan or HMV Japan for some reason. I had no choice but to ask my friend to purchase it for me and she bought me She is WANNABE! from a local Tower Records. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Tower Records, it's an entertainment store that sells CD and DVDs of various music artists and movies. I am not sure if they also sell books as well, but I am going to assume that they do.
While my friend was at Tower Records, she also picked me up these pamphlets advertising Tokyo Girls' Style upcoming concert at Shibuya Kokkaido as well as one advertising French Kiss's weekly radio show. They came protected by this Shingeki no Kyojin clearfile which I feel I don't need but at the same time I am glad that it did the job in keeping the pamphlets in good shape.
The version that I got was Type-C because it only comes with the CD which makes it cheaper. If I were to get a version that comes with a DVD, the price would change from around 900yen (the amount that my version goes for) to around 1500yen, around 14-15 US dollars. For some people, the DVD might be worth it but I am fine with just having the music to listen to.
One thing that puzzled me when I got the package in the mail was that the package was much larger than I expected. I remember only asking my friend to get me GALETTe's single so I had no idea what it was until I opened it.
When I did open it, it turned out to be more pamphlets, this time advertising Tokyo Girls' Style's crowdfunded movie, ５つ数えれば君の夢 / Count Five To Dream Of You and the spinoff manga of said movie. I was confused, I guess she also got me the manga too? As I started to flip through the pages, it suddenly hit me. I got really excited thinking, "No way....is this what I think it is...!??!".
And I was right, it was a copy that was signed by the members themselves! I am not sure of the details but there was a lottery which if you win, you were able to participate in an event where the members personally hand you a signed copy of the manga. My friend applied for this event not thinking that she would win, but she ended up winning and she received a signed copy and sent it to me. She tells me that she told me that she was sending it to me but I didn't remember her telling me at all ^^; Needless to say though, I was pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, as much as I'd like to read it, I have to put that and Sashihara Rino's Gyakutenryoku on hold since the JLPT is coming up and I really need to study for that.
Today is also Thanksgiving and I celebrated Thanksgiving at a cousin's house with family. This was some of the food that was served. Speaking of Thanksgiving, what are you thankful for? Today I had Mass and the pastor told us to think about what we are thankful for. I thought about it seriously and I am glad for the times I was able to spend together with fellow Idol comrades at various concerts and events. When Idol fans get together, there is this amazing sense of camaderie and this allows to share our passions with people who have the same passions as we do. Through doing so, our lives feel more enriching and our network grows. I hope to meet some of you guys again in the near future. I also really appreciate my friend doing these things for me and I need to thank her somehow. I know she gets weirdly excited about the US and anything about the US, maybe I should send her a gigantic US flag?
With that said, definitely do check out GALETTe's new single, She is WANNABE! and Tokyo Girls' Style movie, ５つ数えれば君の夢 / Count Five To Dream Of You.
